The Office of Inspector General provides autonomous, independent, and neutral oversight over the West Virginia Departments of Health, Human Services, and Health Facilities programs and operations through nine distinct divisions within the Office of Inspector General.
Investigations and Fraud Management
The Investigations and Fraud Management Division conducts investigations of internal matters of the Departments and conducts investigations of suspected program fraud and program abuse by outside participants in programs the Departments administer.
Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification (OHFLAC)
The Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification reviews and regulates facilities and provider settings under its authority to ensure that these facilities and provider settings are meeting the minimum federal and state regulatory requirements.
West Virginia Clearance for Access: Registry and Employment Screening (WV CARES)
West Virginia Clearance for Access: Registry and Employment Screening Division provides and conducts registry screening, criminal background checks, and variance reviews on all prospective direct access personnel, independent contractors, and volunteers of specific providers, facilities, and the Departments.
