Nursing Home Licensing Advisory Council

The Nursing Home Licensing Advisory Council was established under the Nursing Home Licensure Legislative Rule (W. Va. Code R. §71-15-1, et seq.). The Council is made up of 10 to 15 members, including licensed nursing home administrators, representatives from government agencies, and consumer members.

Its role is to provide recommendations to the Director of the Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification on regulatory matters and ways to improve nursing home services. In addition, the Council helps identify which provisions of the Nursing Home Licensure Legislative Rule apply to nursing homes that are federally certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The Office of Inspector General/Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification is dedicated to ensuring that all public meetings are conducted in a respectful and orderly manner.

All participants are expected to follow the rules of decorum. Disruptive, inappropriate, or unlawful behavior - including the use of offensive language or imagery, personal attacks, or any actions that interfere with the meeting - will not be tolerated. Individuals engaging in such behavior may be muted, removed from the meeting, or reported to the appropriate authorities.

By attending a meeting, you agree to conduct yourself respectfully. Failure to do so may result in removal from the meeting or other actions permitted by law.
